It's Just Monet

I did not grow up with much. I often had hand me downs and would find things, and make them work for other usage. Anything that I got my hands on I found purpose in; there was nothing that was too old or too damaged to be re-purposed. This practice allowed for understanding and passion for taking anything (carpet, wood scraps, cloths, etc.) and making it into something that could assist in a variety of ways. Creative minds carry the desire to create whereas I also enjoy and desire to transform. This is the perspective that I carry into every project I am commissioned to do be it furniture design or commercial and residential interiors.

Exhibit Design: Follow Me,"the effects of the media"

I was given a space in which I had to create an exhibit within. Each person in the class was given a word to focus on, mine was Media. The choice was left up to us when it came to the direction that we took to focus on. In today’s world everything is all about what you’re wearing, what you’re driving, who you know, and how much money you have access to; therefore  specifically wanted to focus on how much power we give the media over our lives. At one point in time we were once creative and confident in our creativity and now we are only confident and satisfied in having the things that the media say we should have, and once we don’t fit that image...well there are many effects to that.
The following link is a video expressing only one effect:

At the end of the day the purpose of this project  is to use the media to help users to reflect on themselves. This may bring negative emotions, positive emotions, and some may not be effected at all but through my design, the experience, and technology a lesson will be learned.

PUMA: Shoe Boutique

This project features a custom interior space for a Puma shoe boutique. For inspiration I began to look at Puma products. The shoe featured below is call the "Siluro". It is a very exclusive and expensive shoe that has just hit the stores. I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to utilize the shoe as a concept, but without being so literal. The other pictures are some examples of what I see when breaking the shoe down into separate elements.

This is a design analysis and an example of how I break down my concept to form ideas, forms, and elements that will then be implemented in the space. Some of the main words that will really influence the space are as follow: Smooth, Bold, Contrast, and Organic. Many other words that I felt spoke for the shoe were words like repetition, texture, and dimension.
